Designed to simplify processes where information needs to be applied initially to one item or document and then moved to another later on.
Piggyback labels, also known as dual-layer or two-layer labels, are a unique type of label construction where one adhesive label is placed on top of another. They are essentially a "label on a label”.
A piggyback label is designed to simplify processes where information needs to be applied initially and then moved to another item or document later on. The two-layer label is first affixed to a surface such as a package, file, or document. When needed, the top layer can be peeled away and transferred to a new surface, leaving the base label behind on the original item.
A master label on a package contains all shipping information. A smaller, removable top label can be peeled off by the courier and applied to a manifest or delivery record.
A single label is printed for a patient's chart. Smaller, individual piggyback labels on top can be peeled off and applied to each blood sample or specimen tube to ensure accurate tracking.
An item is labelled with a piggyback tag. As the item moves through different stages of a process, a label can be peeled off and applied to a form, creating a physical record of its movement.
